KaraThe Executive Council of the Government of Anguilla has confirmed the selection of Ms. Kara Hughes, a recent Sixth Form graduate of the Albena Lake-Hodge Comprehensive School, for the Anguilla Island Scholarship for 2015.
Her confirmation is contained in the Executive Council’s Minutes for the 28th meeting dated Thursday, November 26. It was agreed that the scholarship should be applicable to the Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Chemical Engineering/Cooperative Education at the University of Ottawa in Canada.

The scholarship also includes the Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering/Cooperative Education at the University of Ottawa or the University of British Columbia in Canada.

The Executive Council further agreed that the scholarship should be for the duration of seven years, beginning September 2015, and that its cost should not exceed EC$600,000.

Kara is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Lowell Hughes of Hughes Medical Centre.
