On December 11th, 2015, staff from the Anguilla Community College went into the community to spread Christmas cheer. Dressed in Christmas hats and reindeer antlers they brought smiles to the faces of everyone they encountered. Over forty persons were presented with goodie bags from the Anguilla Community College which included mugs, flashlights, key rings, note pads and other small gifts.
All departments from the College were asked to submit names of persons or businesses they worked with who made a major contribution or difference to their work over the last year. The Assistant Registrar responsible for marketing said: “We are grateful to all who continue to support the College by sponsoring staff to attend courses, volunteering their time, money and talents to assist with classes and other initiatives – and also to those who provide great customer service to us. We wanted to personally say thank you and therefore we showed up and surprised them at their offices and work places with goodie bags from the College and loads of Christmas cheer.”
Another staff member said, “There are some vendors I believe have shown me excellent customer service and made my trips to these businesses/entities when making purchases for the College pleasant. They went above and beyond in some circumstances. Please let them know they should keep up their excellent customer service skills.”
There were big smiles and hugs when persons were told that they were being rewarded for great customer service. One recipient was immensely grateful and said “something like this has never happened to me. I am so happy.”
The College also recognised its corporate partners. These are businesses that sponsored staff repeatedly to attend courses at the Anguilla Community College. Gift bags were presented to the Directors or Human Resources Managers of these businesses.
In response, one recipient wrote on Facebook and said, “I go out and Carla, Shellecia and another young lady are there looking the ‘festive part’. As soon as we are all standing in the foyer, Carla starts singing, ‘We wish you a Merry Christmas’. It was super cool because the other guests perked up and there were colleagues in the training room as well enjoying the impromptu staging. They then gave us 2 bags of goodies as a thank you for our partnership over the year. It was different, it was simple, it was nice…it made my day. Crazy thing is earlier in the morning we had a discussion about whether or not it was too early to decorate the office. Immediately we knew it was not too early. It is the season of good cheer. Thank you Anguilla Community College for sharing the spirit of the season with us. We love and were really impressed with our goodie bags. #Seasons Greetings.”
