The Royal Anguilla Police Force reports that the siting of the Anguilla House of Assembly today Thursday 19th November, 2015 took place uneventful.
There was a small passionate crowd that gathered at the House of Assembly and conducted themselves in a very dignified manner before they dispersed at about noon.
The RAPF continues to respect the rights of the public to assemble and express themselves in public spaces which is a right enshrined in the Anguilla Constitution. We continue to respect those rights provided that your protest action remains peaceful.
“Initially the RAPF policing plan for the House of Assembly meeting was a high presence one,” said Commissioner of Police Mr. Paul Morrison, “But given the size of the crowd and their demeanor we were able to redeploy 80% of our officers. They were deployed to provide high visibility patrols across the island.”
