Elections were held on Saturday evening at the Conference Room at the James Ronald Webster Park.

Mr Lavie Hobson is the new President of the Anguilla Bodybuilding Federation. He replaces the Past President Mr Joseph Pradel.

Mr Verdine Connor has been elected Vice President.

The other members are Mrs Marissa Hughes – Treasurer; Ms Lisa Rey-Secretary; Public Relations Officer – Ms Felicia Hennis; Athletes representative – Mr Hadyn Hughes and Coach Mr Michael Connor.

Mr Hobson who has been a bodybuilding enthusiast for over ten years says he looks forward to serving as President and working with the newly elected dynamic Executive Team.

He said, “Our aim is to build on the foundation that has already been laid and continue to build public awareness of the sport of bodybuilding.”

President Hobson said further: “The Board also intends to promote awareness of the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle with a combination of healthy eating habits and exercise. Additionally, we look forward to working with all the local fitness houses and their athletes, and will encourage and facilitate wide participation in bodybuilding and fitness shows locally, regionally and internationally.”

Meanwhile Past President of the Anguilla Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation, Mr Joseph Pradel, says although he is no longer at the helm of the organization, he will remain committed to the sport.

In his final President’s report, Mr Pradel said he began his bodybuilding journey in 2000 and has devoted much of his time to the sport and will continue to do so.

Pradel who is also the owner of his gym, La Severine, said he will continue to train persons who are interested in competing in the bodybuilding shows.

He said bodybuilding is an expensive sport and requires much discipline.

The former President said Anguilla’s bodybuilders have grown and have competed in various competitions thus becoming a force with which to reckon in the bodybuilding arena.
