From the creators of the Extreme Bake Off Competition came Anguillas’ first Mega Cake Expo & Work that Heel Hun fund raiser event. The event took place at the Anguilla Great House Rendezvous, Anguilla, and commenced at 7:20pm on Saturday October 3rd, 2015.cake4

This event was designed to promote and high-light cake and cake decorating skills. Participants were invited to register and bring their best work and have it exposed to the general public, while promoting their business ~ participants were also able to sell their product on site while providing delicious bite size samples. There were five participating teams in total. These were Sugarlicious Creations, Pa Joe Oven, Suzettes’ Pastries, Mo Sweettooth Cakes, and Telemaques’ Cakes.cake3

There was a popular vote that brought much excitement to the evening for the best looking cake, and best tasting cake, however it was all in the name of fun. Sugarlicious Creations/Mary Smith emerged the winner by popular vote for the best looking cake presented and the best tasting cake presented. Pa Joe Oven/ Elridge Richardson, came second followed by Suzette Smith. I was especially well pleased with this outcome. T he 3 participants afore mentioned are my three main supporters. Elridge and Suzette, many a time represented Aaron and Hur in this journey. They held my hands up whenever I seem to be losing strength. They held my hands up and encouraged me to push on when the battle got hot.
It is important to also note that they all took part in the Jesus Christ VIPs’ first ever Extreme Bake Off Competition, at the Stoney Ground Primary School in 2009. These individuals have stuck with me through the thick and thin over the past seven years. To God be the glory for that. I am forever grateful and will never forget their labour of love.

The prelude of the evening took the form of a shoe modeling competition where two shoe businesses, showcased their shoes, these were Van Beauty Store (Owner Vanessa Rouse) located in the Mason Complex, opposite Lakes World, in The Valley and Shoe Lounge (Owner Patricia Harrigan) Store located at Unbeweaveable Divas, in the Valley Anguilla. Patricia original team was supposed to include 3 young ladies who took up the challenge to model that evening. However one could not make it for unforeseen reasons and the other fell ill on site. However Patricia’s sole model stormed the run way with a variety of exceptionally

The evening transitioned into high gear with TheoChris Designs – Alexis Ryan, his precious mother Mrs. Ryan, who is his seamstress and his team lit the runway on fire as they presented passed designs of his clothing line. The pieces presented were simply out of this world beautiful and neatly presented. I applaud the team highly. The quality of the line of clothing was definitely remarkable to say the least. The audience sat in awe as the evening proceeded.
Though the attendance for Mega Mega Cake Expo & Work That Heel Hun fund raiser event was not as rich as previous years. The strength and quality of the event escaladed to a level like never before. cake2

Literally everything that could have gone wrong during the planning and down to the night of the event went wrong. So upon commencement I met the team in room 101 of the venue and we began in prayer. Momma Ryan held my hands and just blessed the entire evening. By the time she was done we were ready to get started. Through it all the event proceeded and proved strong on completion.
You may have heard of our previous events along this line such as Extreme Bake Off Competitions’ 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5. This new event was designed to expose to the general public and further afield different businesses or individuals who have been privately producing over the years.
Unlike precious years I decided to put to rest the anxiety and stress that would usually accompany the Extreme Bake Off Competition or ANY competition, and opened the door for persons to freely participate by displaying their work in a relaxed environment while simultaneously promoting ones’ business thus “Mega Cake Expo”ca2

Tables and table cloths were provided by the Anguilla Great House the venue where the event was held. Because of the nature of the event participants were encouraged to have available on site their business cards, fliers or any general information pertaining to their business. Indeed it was a splendid evening. Our DJ Ruel Connor ensured that our guest was properly entertained and he sure did an excellent job. Not one dull moment was experienced from beginning to the end.
I would like to say a special thank you to GOD ALMIGHTY first of all for granting me life and giving me gifts to share with you the public. To my wonderful husband and immediate family who have been a great tower of strength. Thanks to Shenee Bryan and Ronya Foy Connor for her administrative assistance and words of encouragement. Dawny & Tamara Jeffers who travels from St Maarten every year to assist with set up. Thanks to my IT manager, Michael Mussington for his technical assistance and reliability, over the past 3 years. MV Excellence, MV Cheers II, Te Zech and Geraud’s Patisserie-Anguilla Cakes and catering who sponsored our prizes.
