A billboard about prostate cancer, erected along the Queen Elizabeth Avenue, was unveiled on Monday 21st August, 2015. In accordance with prostate cancer awareness month, September, the billboard reads; “Men don’t procrastinate, check that prostate”.

Among those at the unveiling were David Gumbs, Chief Executive Officer of the Anguilla Electricity Company Ltd (ANGLEC); Jennifer Gumbs, President of the Anguilla Cancer Society; John C. Lake, advocate for prostate awareness; and members of the Anguilla Cancer Society and ANGLEC.

Jennifer Gumbs commented: “On behalf of the Anguilla Cancer Society (ACS), I want to say a special thank you to ANGLEC. With this you have allowed us to come to another milestone”. She noted that it has proven difficult to get men to check their prostate.
As a nonprofit organization the ACS is dependent on sponsorships by persons and businesses in the community.

Mr. David Gumbs noted that the “majority of the staff at ANGLEC are made up of men”, and hoped that men of not just ANGLEC, but the wider community, get involved with the activates concerning prostate cancer awareness.
