The athletes are Shara Proctor and Zharnell Hughes, representing Great Britain and Maurell Carty representing Anguilla.

Mr. Connor told The Anguillian: “It also gives me an opportunity to meet with the UK Minister of Sports and the President of UK Sports in an effort to get assistance for the development of a track and field facility in Anguilla.”

He added: “With the fact that two of our home-grown athletes are representing Great Britain…stands a realistic chance, and strengthens our case, [to receive some well-needed assistance].”
