How can the AUM in good conscience issue this statement?

Was it not the AUM that was in power when the ECCB took over the banks in August 2013?
Was it not the AUM that was in control of the Government for 20 of the 23 months that ECCB has actively overseen the operations of Anguilla's local banks?
Was it not the AUM that remained largely silent about the local banking situation during the first 20 months of this crisis?

The AUM is demanding answers now - really? Don't they speak to each other within the AUM party? I don't imagine things have changed all that much in the last three months, so if the AUM doesn't know what the problem and situation is now, they probably didn't even know what the problem was when they were the party responsible for finding a solution.

Let's be honest! The problem is simple - the two banks don't have enough capital to operate safely and soundly on their own, given their problem loans and lack of strong earnings. The solution is probably equally simple - the banks need to find additional capital from either the private or public sectors, or pray that the problem loan situation improves along with the economy and real estate values.
