More than three hundred boys and girls from the primary schools are attending a two-week Soccer Camp, sponsored totally by the Anguilla Football Association.
The event commenced at the Football Stadium on Monday morning, with senior coach, Colin Johnson, addressing the young players.
There are six categories of players in terms of age as follows: under five years; six to seven; eight to nine; ten to twelve; under fourteen; fifteen plus; and the goal-keeping category.
Mr. Johnson said the training camp was now over fifteen years. According to him, it has exposed the children to football and to learn the skills of the sport.
“The camp has attracted a lot of young players, and has made football one of the most attractive and popular sports on the island,” he stated.
