Friday July 10th 2015, Anguilla- Digicel Anguilla today formally partnered with the Anguilla Summer Festival Committee to host the Caribbean’s BIGGEST beach party on Monday August 3rd. The contract was signed at the Digicel Corporate Offices in Rock Farm by Operations Manager Mr. Colwayne Pickering and Carnival Chairman Mr. John Benjamin.
August Monday as it’s affectionately known, has become the highlight of Anguilla’s carnival; it features J’ouvert Morning, boat racing and an exciting show down that brings Anguillian3 and international guest together in merriment.
The August Monday, celebrations begins with the J’ouvert Morning street parade which commences at 3AM from The Valley central and ending in Sandy ground. Boat racing then starts after would have ended their jollification in Sand Ground; then the best and Caribbean’s BIGGEST Beach Party gets underway in the afternoon; POWERED by Digicel, Anguilla’s #1 Communications network.
This year beach fete will feature the local bands vying for Road March 2015, International and Caribbean performing acts such as Farmer Nappy, Kerwin Dubois and headlined by the King of Dancehall, Beenie Man and Queen of Bacchanal, Destra Garcia, among others.
According to Digicel’s Commercial Manager, Kerchelle Jn Charles, “this partnership is testament to the fact that Digicel is fully integrate into the Anguillian community and culture. Digicel is pleased to partner with the Anguilla Summer Festival Committee to demonstrate strength and prosperity in partnerships; a sure indication of what it means to be extraordinary,”
In Addition, the Operations manager Colwayne Pickering stated “Digicel is very humbled to be part of such a partnership with the Anguilla Summer Festival Committee for the Anguilla Carnival 2015. We are happy to be involved and we know that this year’s August Monday beach party will be an Extraordinary and Historical one. The partnership between Digicel and the Anguilla Summer Festival Committee, which is in Cash and kind, forms part of our overall sponsorship for Carnival 2015.
