Monday 20 July marked another important achievement in the existence of the less-than-one-year-old Anguilla National Calypso Association (ANCA) with the handing over of prizes to the winners of its recently concluded raffle. The first prize of a 50-inch Samsung Smart Television was won by Mr Julian “Margo” Bryan of Long Bay; the second prize of a 15 inch HP Laptop was won by Mr Everton Hull of North Valley, with the third prize of a Bose Mini Sound Link going to Mr Shem Liddie of East End. All the winners were very appreciative of their prizes.
The ANCA takes this opportunity to thank all those who supported the cause, those who not only bought tickets but those who assisted with the sale of tickets as well – the winning ticket having been sold by one our vendors in the community. The funds raised were used to help member calypsonians in defraying the cost of their 2015 calypso recordings. Some nine (9) calypsonians received cheques in the amount of US$300.00 each.
ANCA wishes to thank the media for its coverage of our activities and looks forward to the continued support and encouragement from the wider community.
Presiding over the ceremony were President of ANCA, Rebecca ‘Queen B’ Webster; Vice President John ‘Springer’ Lloyd, and Secretary Clemencia ‘Adjudicator’ Dupie.
The ANCA continues to appeal to ALL calypsonians to come on board as it joins forces in Moving Calypso Forward.
