You are not alone! Do you believe it? Well, it is true. No matter what you have gone through, or are currently going through, it is very important for you to know that there are many others who have gone through similar circumstances – or may be going through the same thing this very moment as well.

None of us is immune to life’s problems – be it the death of a loved one, a separation or divorce, a life threatening illness, parental woes, a financial issue, an issue with the law – you name it, someone somewhere is experiencing the same. Whenever we are facing tough times, we often have the tendency to feel all alone. We feel as if nobody in the world cares or understands, but that is far from the truth.

Never for one minute think that there are no options and you are all alone. Everyone has had a low point in his or her life – everyone has gone through something. You can take whatever experience you are facing and use it as a positive by controlling the situation instead of letting the situation control you. It will take some will power on your end, but you can do it! When tragedies strike, you can turn to God for strength and comfort. You can always turn to God in crises, in sorrow and pain. When you face times of difficulty the Spirit of God is there for you. You just need to call on Him for help. He usually gives you the strength you need to go on.

Sometimes Jesus will calm the storms in your life. Other times He will act like an anchor that you can tie yourself to. Still, other times, Jesus will offer Himself as shelter so that you can weather the storm in His protection and under His wings. But rest assured, as the Scriptures say, He will never leave you. You will not be alone.
The Bible is full of stories of men and women who endured hardships, sorrow, anguish and disappointment. Daniel found himself in a den of lions. Joseph was betrayed by members of his own family. His own brothers threw him into a well, and then sold him as a slave to a passing caravan. Then there is the story of Job who lost his fortune, his lands, his family and then endured challenging physical hardships. David underwent tremendous challenges. He was like a fugitive, running for his life. Saul sought every opportunity to kill him.

When going through tough times, some people often turn mean-spirited, resentful and throw out blame toward others for their circumstances. But people who believe in God and His son Jesus Christ, know how to immediately turn to God for hope, comfort, guidance and peace when serious troubles come knocking on their door. During tough times, it is important to know how to choose to respond because your attitude can affect God’s blessings on your life.

Loneliness, worry, fear and uncertainty are part of our everyday human life, but Scriptures assure us that we are not alone when we go through life’s struggles. We have troubles all around us, but we are not defeated. We do not know what to do, but we do not give up the hope of living. We are persecuted, but God does not leave us. We are hurt sometimes, but we are not destroyed. So we do not give up. Our physical body is becoming older and weaker, but the spirit inside us is made new everyday. We have small troubles for a while now, but they are helping us gain an eternal glory that is much greater than the troubles. We set our eyes not on what we see but on what we cannot see. Our hope is in God.
Friends and perhaps even relatives may abandon you in the hour of your desperate need, but not God. He has promised never to leave you alone. He will never desert you in your time of need. Hold unto His promise that He will never leave you alone. May you find comfort in the words of the song – “Never Alone.”

I’ve seen the lightning flashing,
And heard the thunder roll,
I’ve felt sin’s breakers dashing,
Trying to conquer my soul;
I’ve heard the voice of my Savior,
Telling me still to fight on,
He promised never to leave me,
Never to leave me alone.

Refrain:
No, never alone, No, never alone,
He promised never to leave me,
Never to leave me alone.

The world’s fierce winds are blowing,
Temptation’s sharp and keen,
I have a peace in knowing
My Savior stands between-
He stands to shield me from danger,
When earthly friends are gone,
He promised never to leave me,
Never to leave me alone.

When in affliction’s valley
I’m treading the road of care,
My Savior helps me to carry
My cross when heavy to bear,
Though all around me is darkness,
Earthly joys all flown;
My Savior whispers His promise,
“I never will leave thee alone.”

He died for me on the mountain,
For me they pierced His side,
For me He opened the fountain,
The crimson, cleansing tide;
For me He’s waiting in glory,
Seated upon His throne,
He promised never to leave me,
Never to leave me alone.
