It’s been one year since Pelican Mobile PetCare opened its car doors to offer mobile veterinary care to the pets of Anguilla’s residents and visitors. Last year, after 14 years of living full-time in Anguilla owners and veterinarians, Drs. Mike and Georgia Paul, were granted naturalization and immediately set up to provide pet owners with an alternative for their professional veterinary care. Previously, the only choices pet owners had were to visit the one veterinary clinic on island or to seek the casual advice of friends or the suppliers of pet products. So the Drs. Paul were excited about being able to add the expertise of two U.S. veterinary school graduates to that mix and to provide another option for pet care.
With over 70 years of combined medical experience, they are certainly qualified to do just that. But beyond their clinical skills, they are also in a unique position to deliver that quality care on the pet owner’s schedule in their own home, at a villa or hotel, on the beach, wherever they are needed. With a dedicated, mobile-only practice, Mike and Georgia, provide everything from routine wellness care (examinations, vaccines, deworming, etc.) to laboratory testing to management of complex medical cases focusing on diagnosis and the best treatment options. Whether it’s treating itchy skin or tick fever, stitching up a wound, or overseeing a diagnostic CTScan, Pelican Mobile PetCare is there for you during and after.
And they stress the after because the doctors at Pelican Mobile PetCare also have a strong commitment to client communication, education, and follow-up. They want pet owners to understand their pets’ medical problems from the ‘how’ to the ‘why’ to ‘what now’?. And when they say they want updates going forward, they mean it. Phone calls, emails, photos, videos all help to keep everyone on the same page in providing the best medical care. In fact, it’s the building of relationships that has proven to be one of the most rewarding aspects of the practice. Dr. Georgia Paul says, “It’s been great meeting new people and making new friends – of both the two-legged and four-legged varieties. And it’s especially nice because the pets we visit are relaxed and comfortable in their own homes and, in most cases, really, very happy to see us.”
So the next time your pet needs veterinary care, consider having that care come to you. Contact Drs. Mike and Georgia Paul, Pelican Mobile PetCare, at 583-0373 or pelicanpet@gmail.com or via www.pelicanpetcare.com .
