On Friday June 19th, The Blowing Point Youth Development Centre was the recipient of a cheque of One Thousand US Dollars from Runway Anguilla.
The Blowing Point Youth Development Centre now in its 7th year of operation, was the first of its kind on Anguilla. The Centre serves children and young people from the Blowing Point area and surrounding communities by providing afterschool and summer programmes which focus primarily on the areas of academics, life skills, character development, culture and sports. With an enrollment of over 95 students for the school year 2014-2015 up from 57 in 2013-2014, it is clearly demonstrated that the BPYDC has gained the full confidence of parents who are taking full advantage of the services offered free of cost to the well deserving children and young people of the area.
As a non-profit organization, the BPYDC is always grateful to organizations such as Runway Anguilla, which support the community and take special interest in our youth. This timely and much needed donation will go a very long way to support the Centre and its program offering.
Runway Anguilla indicated its delight in contributing to this dynamic center which moves mountains in providing valuable academic and personal support to Anguilla’s youth. They encouraged other institutes and organisations to lend a hand in building the various beacons of light in the community.
