The voices and music of twelve choirs from the same number of churches across Anguilla filled the large Mount Fortune Seventh-day Adventist Church where the singers and musicians performed. It was the Sixth Annual Choir Fest, held on Thursday evening, May 28, in the run-up to the 48th Anniversary of the Anguilla Revolution and Anguilla Day.
The welcome remarks were delivered by Pastor Trent Berg of the Anguilla Seventh-day Adventist District, and the event was chaired by Mr. Chris Richardson, Music Minister at the Christian Fellowship Church.
The Hon. Minister of Home Affairs, Mrs. Cora Richardson Hodge, said it was only fitting that the people of Anguilla should take time out for an evening of hymns and songs of praise to Almighty God as part of the Anguilla Day activities. She commended the various choirs for diligently preparing their renditions for the delightful programme.
The various choirs, chorales and other singing groups which participated in Choir Fest – and their renditions – appeared in the following order:
Celestial Voices Children’s Choir, SDA (Worthy Is The Lamb); Central Baptist Church Choir (Thou O Lord); Christian Fellowship Church Choir (I Never Lost My Praise); Ebenezer Methodist Church Youth Choir (When Jesus Says Yes); Hilltop Baptist Church Chorale (The Blood); Life Impact Centre (Peace In My Soul); Methodist Church Circuit Youth Choir (He Is Able); Hospital Community Choir (King Jesus Is A Listenin’); Ebenezer Methodist Church Senior Choir (Give Thanks All Ye People); Melodies Praise Chorale (a mix of church individuals): (I Need You Once Again); Shekinah Church of God (Holiness) (Great Is Thy Faithfulness); and Church of God of Prophecy Chorale (Great Are You Lord).
Not only was the programme enjoyable and inspiring, but the various singing groups were well-organised and were well in place for their performing roles, thus contributing to an orderly and time-saving process.
