The Commissioner and members of the Royal Anguilla Police Force received much thanks for their role in the recent 2015 election.
The remarks came from Her Excellency the Governor Christina Scott and the Supervisor of Election, Ms Arjul Wilson.
In a letter dated 23rd April, 2015 HE stated, I am writing to thank you and all the officers of the Royal Anguilla Police Force, for the policing of the entire election, both leading up to and especially including polling day itself. I fully appreciate all the hard work and professionalism of the RAPF, which has been a key part of the success of the overall election process.”
The said sentiments were expressed to the Commissioner of Police by Ms. Wilson in an email to him on Monday 27th April, 2015.
The 2015 Election Campaign began in early 2014 and continued up to election eve with all parties and candidates having meeting on a regular basis. The meetings were stepped up after the agreed Lentent break when all parties conducted meetings simultaneous every night thereafter.
The Commissioner of Police himself has praised the men and women of the RAPF for their hard work and commitment to the job of serving and protecting during the grueling election campaign. “Police are often times called upon to go above and beyond and the RAPF did just that during the 2015 Election Campaign. We performed our duty without fear or favour and ensured that all political parties were treated the same,” he concluded.
