KICKS UNITED FC on Tuesday 26 May handed over a cheque in the amount of US$1000 to Mr Andre Griffith a member of the leading local football club. Several months ago Mr Griffith was faced with a family medical emergency which would eventually cause him and his young family to incur significant cost.
President of the organization always wanted to assist in the situation so when the idea of a Benefit Game aimed at raising funds towards the cause did not materialize he thought to himself and later met with the players and discussed the idea with the team. The President indicated to them that whatever the club’s winnings were for the league segment of the 2015 football competition he would like the club to commit half of that amount to Griffith’s cause; they readily accepted and so on Tuesday in a small ceremony at the Anguilla Public Library the President of KICKS UNITED FC presented to Mr Andre Griffith a cheque in the amount of US$1000.00 to assist in whatever way possible.
In response Mr Griffith thanked the Club for the generous donation to his family.
The President ended the brief presentation with a quotation from a calypso sung by the Mighty Sun Beam in last year’s Calypso Monarch Competition, “In the final analysis families unite in times of crisis”.
