“On behalf of the executive and members of the Anguilla Nurses Association we express sincere gratitude to the pastor and members of Bethany Gospel Hall for welcoming us in there sanctuary this morning.

“This week the Nurses within the island pause to reflect on this profession that has resonated worldwide as a noble one.

“As we meditate on the reason we practice the craft of nursing and the responsibilities that are bestowed on us to be of service to mankind we cannot help but choose a theme reminding us of our pivotal role within the health care sector.

“Nurses are the heartbeat of healthcare.

“Certainly nurses are the largest group of professionals in health care setting and the one who are the closest and often the only available health worker to the population, nurses are task with a great responsibility to improve the delivery of quality care within less than optimal environments.

“Despite such as nurses we remain a vital resource for health and dedicated to the people we serve.

“The executive of the Anguilla Nurses association wishes to thank all nurses for their commitment and continued efforts in making differences in the lives of the citizens in Anguilla and even though the challenges are sometimes overwhelming and unappreciated we must not lose site of the role we play.

“Not everyone can be a nurse and nursing is not for everyone….be proud we are special and we are indeed the heartbeat of healthcare.

“I take this opportunity to welcome everyone to our health fair tomorrow at the Princess Alexandra Grounds where we render services and give back to the community through free eye, dentistry and ear nose and throat screening, foot care, massages, facials free cholesterol and prostate checks and much more…..likewise we also extend an invitation to our Saturday morning aerobic session and scavenger hunt at 5 am at the Ronald Webster park breakfast will be included.”
