April 28, 2015 Rockfarm, Anguilla – Thirty under 15 aspiring football players on April 15 and 16 received the opportunity of a lifetime to attend a clinic with world-renowned coaches from the Chelsea Football Club, through the Digicel KickStart programme. Regional telecommunications giant Digicel continues to provide its support to the development of local sports through this amazing KickStart programme. Leading to the climax of the Digicel KickStart Series 2015, the first ever Digicel Junior Soccerama Tournament was held to select the best 30 of under 15 local footballers across Anguilla.
During the Clinics, the Chelsea coaches took the boys through a programme which tested various aspects of their game including their speed, skill, agility and technical ability as well as life skills such as hard work and discipline. At the end of each Clinic, three boys and one wild card were selected to attend the one-week Digicel Academy which will be held later this year. Names of the boys included; Rene Thomas, Carlique Gumbs, Eldon Richardson and Daniel Smith (wild card).
