The following statements were released April 20th by the Anguilla Tennis Academy and the Arijah Children’s Foundation regarding the Love Tennis Tournament fundraising event which took place on Saturday, February 21, 2015 at the ATA.
Mitchelle Lake, Founder and CEO of the Anguilla Tennis Academy said, “We are pleased to support the Arijah Children’s Foundation through our annual Love Tennis Tournament. It is important that we show love to children with special needs in our society and do everything possible to make them feel special and appreciated. The ATA is proud of its commitment to this worthy cause.”
Renuka Harrigan, Founder of The Arijah Children’s Foundation said, “The LOVE Tennis Tournament has shown us how love can make a way for persons of all talents and abilities to come together and be a blessing to one another. Love made a way, even in trying economic times, to fill six tennis courts at the Anguilla Tennis Academy full of avid tennis players for 8 hours in a show of support to raise funds for Anguilla’s children with special needs. Children served by the Arijah Foundation were the first to take to the court to launch the tournament play. Excited at the opportunity to play tennis these special children proved that with a helping hand they could play tennis too! We are truly grateful for the commitment of support made by Mitchelle Lake, Founder of the Anguilla Tennis Academy and the A.T.A. and staff and members to partner with us for this annual fundraising event. And for our faithful sponsors Digicel and Webster Law without whom the tournament could not happen. And to all the participants who played, cheered and brought goodies we appreciate you so much. Finally, we were thrilled to welcome our newest partners Confetti Dust Studio and Savor a Mouthful who created a tasty and fun filled LOVE theme party to end the day. All in all we thank God for the support of the Anguillian community who have embraced children with special needs.”
