On Thursday 9th April 2015, the Department of Youth and Culture in partnership with the Apostolic Faith Church hosted the Second Annual Catapulted Entrepreneur Expo under the theme Exceeding.
The Expo provided a forum for the display of small and new business ideas, and offer seasoned entrepreneurs an opportunity to share their expertise and experiences. Resource persons from the public and private sectors also presented on topics related to the establishment of a successful business.
The highlight of the Expo was the business and business idea display by our new and emerging entrepreneurs. The display was examined by a panel of judges and awards were given in three categories:
-Best Business Display
-Most Original Idea
-The New Entrepreneur Award.
Darren Lewis of Just Imagine Art, won the New Entrepreneur Award, Taj Carty of Project Jobs won the Most Original Idea Award and the Best Business Display award went to business partners Latoya Scarbro and Twyla Richardson-Thomas of Confitti Dust Studio. Confitti Dust Studio also won that category during the inaugural Entrepreneur Expo in 2014.
