The road-side two-storey old dwelling house and business place on the Edwin Wallace Rey Drive at George Hill, has been demolished – ridding passers-by of an eyesore which has been evoking a number of complaints. The building was demolished about a week ago.
It was located on a strip of land where the Anguilla Government had taken over a number of buildings when the nearby airport runway was being redeveloped some years ago. Apart from being unsightly, the old building was thought to pose a threat to incoming aircraft.
