The Anguilla Police arrested five persons during the period February 6-10 as follows:
Friday, February 6: two male persons for separate incidents of indecent assault on minors. They were R.A. of Island Harbour and P.H. of Little Harbour.
They both appeared before the Magistrate’s Court on Monday, February 9 and were granted bail to re-appear on the following dates: R.A. on May 26 and P.H. on May 28.
Friday, February 6: Two males were arrested on default warrants. T.C. of The Farrington was arrested and taken to Her Majesty’s Prison, while H.W. of South Hill was taken into police custody. He appeared before the Magistrate’s Court on Monday, February 9. He was granted bail to re-appear on Monday, February 16.
Tuesday, February 10: A 26-year-old man of Stoney Ground was arrested for having unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor. The defendant was taken before the Magistrate’s Court and was granted bail in the sum of EC $60, 000 with one surety, to re-appear in court on June 2. The conditions of bail are that he should stay away from the victim; surrender all travel documents, and report to The Valley Police Station every Monday between the hours of 6 am and 6 pm.
Monday, February 9: Officers of the Financial Investigation Unit of the Royal Anguilla Police Force arrested a female person, R.T. of South Hill for being in possession of property suspected to be unlawfully obtained. The defendant was taken before the Magistrate’s Court where she pleaded guilty. She was fined $350.00 to be paid by Friday, February 13, or spend two months in prison.
