What I find alarming, not only in Anguilla, but throughout the region is that the people appear to give the politicians way too much power. They are supposed to be the servants of the people, but never seem to act like it, nor does anyone make them aware of it, when they overstep these boundaries. And furthermore, Anguillians seem to prefer the party and candidates with deep pockets, versus the people who genuinely have the interest of the country's devlopment at heart. They also have a tendency to harbour deep seated resentment for the ones who are capable of, and are truly wanting to advance growth and bolster the country's economy.
