IMG-20150128-WA0006 IMG-20150128-WA0015Parents play a critical role in the teaching and learning process. For that reason, the staff of the Vivien Vanterpool Primary School has made parental involvement one of the focus targets for the academic year 2014-2015. The staff has calendared a series of parental development workshops intended to strengthen the relationships between parents and the school, to sensitize, motivate and empower and engage parents in meaningful activities that will satisfy the holistic needs of their children.

On Thursday 22nd January, 2015 the staff of the Vivien Vanterpool Primary School, hosted its first in a series of parental workshops. The first session entitled “Child Development and Growth” was facilitated by Dr. Linda Banks. The session was geared at educating parents about the various stages in child development- what to expect and how to respond appropriately to those changes. The workshop was well attended, informative and productive. The parents were actively engaged and contributed positively to the success of the session.
The staff and students at the Vivien Vanterpool Primary School would like to thank Dr. Linda Banks, for ably hosting the session. Also a hearty thanks to all the parents who attended. We look forward to your presence at the next session entitled: “Health, Nutrition and Hygiene”, scheduled for Wednesday February 04th, 2015.
