The Commissioner of Police Mr. Rudolph Proctor and the Chairman of the Police Week Committee, Mr. Maurice Bryson, Esq. on Monday presented the winners of the Annual Police Week Jeep Raffle with their prizes. The raffle has been in existence for the past fifteen years as a prominent part of the week of activities marking the RAPF Anniversary and Police Week. The presentation ceremony took place in the parking lot at Police Headquarters.
The grand prize, a fully loaded Ford Explorer 2015 jeep, valued at US $45,000.00 was won by Mrs. Njeri Rey-Carty of George Hill. The second place winner Ms. Kerrel Harrigan, of Island Harbour, won US $1200.00 and the third place winner was Mr. Edward Webster also of Island Harbour who who US $600.00.
Mrs. Rey-Carty was very excited about her winning and all too happy to get in her new jeep.
Commissioner of Police, Rudolph Proctor congratulated the winners and thanked them for their continued support of the police.
Also present at the ceremony and congratulated by the Commissioner of Police were the grand prize winners of the Police Bingo Competition which also formed part of the Police Week of Activities. The winners were Ms. Angella Isles of South Valley, Ms. Ladawn Hodge of North Side and Mr. Athnel Robertson of Lockrum. They all shared the grand prize of US $4300.00.
