A current series of training in fire safety is turning out to be of much benefit to a number of public and private sector organisations and staff members.
The theoretical and practical exercises are enabling the recipients to be in a position to prevent or control small fires at their workplaces, thus ensuring the safety of all concerned, as well as the buildings and documents.
Mr Shondell Hodge, Fire Station Officer with the Anguilla Fire and Rescue Services, stationed at the Clayton Lloyd International Airport, has reported that there is much interest and success in the series of training seminars conducted by him and other officers.
The most recent training was for staff members of the Customs Department on Monday, this week.
An upcoming training seminar will be held for eighty-four staff members of the National Bank of Anguilla. Recent training exercises were conducted for personnel at Her Majesty’s Prison, the Pathfinders and workers at day-care centres.
Meanwhile, according to Mr Hodge, the fire prevention service is also working in conjunction with the disaster mitigation team to conduct training for a variety of persons during the last week of this month.
