Seaboune Plane 1The Valley, February 18, 2015 – Anguilla will benefit greatly from the introduction of a direct route from Anguilla to San Juan Puerto Rico with Seaborne Airlines. According to Chairman of the Anguilla Tourist Board, Mr.Ralph Hodge, the direct flights between Anguilla and San Juan, which will commence from April 30, 2015, will provide much-needed direct access into Anguilla from the island’s major markets. “We are pleased to announce this new service to the tranquil island of Anguilla. Seaborne Airlines is regarded as a key player in the regional aviation market, and it is good for us to welcome them to Anguilla, providing vital connectivity for many of the island’s major markets. We are certain that through the cooperative marketing efforts of Seaborne Airlines, the ATB, the AHTA and all our partners in the industry, we will be able to capture the attention of our potential visitors with this new service, which has exponentially increased our air capacity to levels not enjoyed since the departure of American Eagle in 2011. The marketing value of having Anguilla attain visibility once more in the Global Distribution Systems through the codeshare agreements of Seaborne Airlines and American Airlines, Jet Blue, and a number of other legacy carriers cannot be overstated.”

“We are excited to help facilitate travel to the beautiful island of Anguilla with Seaborne’s un-paralleled customer service,” said Gary Foss, CEO and President of Seaborne Airlines, “the service would not have been possible without the support of The Puerto Rico Tourism Company and the Anguilla Tourism Board. We thank them for their support.”

Seaborne’s service into Anguilla will launch on April 30, 2015, and operate three times weekly. Service will operate on Seaborne’s fleet of Saab 340 aircraft, comfortably configured with 34 seats, two pilots, and a flight attendant.
Flights will depart from San Juan on Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays at 1:00 p.m. and will arrive in San Juan at 2:05 p.m. The return flight will leave Anguilla at 2:50 p.m., arriving in San Juan at 3:55 p.m. Passengers will be able to connect immediately from and to the principal cities in North America, South America, Central America, Mexico and Puerto Rico, as well as from major cities throughout Europe, including Paris, Frankfurt, Amsterdam, Rome, and London. The new service is also expected to favorably impact travel from Puerto Rico to Anguilla for short-break vacationers, as well as local travel from Anguilla to San Juan for business, health and leisure purposes.
