DSC_8875The newly-completed ramp, north of the central area of the Clayton Lloyd International Airport, provided well-needed parking space for the executive jets flying to Anguilla over the Christmas and New Year season.

The new jet ramp, adjacent to the Edwin Wallace Rey Drive, at George Hill, has afforded a vantage east and west view of the planes, despite the roadside concrete wall fence. The cluster of aircraft there has generated much interest and attraction for passersby over the past several days.
The ramp, being privately developed by Lloyd’s Aviation Services, is to be further enhanced by a facility building, according to Mrs Kelita Lloyd, who heads the company’s ground handling operations. A bulk-refuelling station is already on the premises.

In addition to the new ramp area, a number of the jets, which flew in mainly from various parts of the United States, were accommodated at the original parking space, at the shoulder of the runway, east of the terminal building.
The jet arrivals were slow on Christmas Day, with some 10-15 planes arriving, according to Mrs Lloyd; but on Boxing Day there were some 30 arrivals – and the following day about 40.
