Wednesday 7th January 2015, Anguilla- the Christmas spirit came alive at the Miriam Gumbs Senior Citizens home when Digicel staff visited and brought some joy and love to the elderly.
Although just a visit from a smiling face would have sufficed, the Digicel team did not go empty handed, they took gift boxes filled with items such as medical supplies, canned foods, crackers, flour, sugar and much more. The seniors were thrilled to see Digicel’s Extraordinary staff who looked much into the Christmas spirit in their Christmas attire.
The nurses too were very appreciative to Digicel for remembering a segment of society that for most is largely forgotten. Marketing executive Roxanne Webster Said: “It’s our way of sharing joy and togetherness during this holiday season and giving back to the community. It’s heartwarming to see the seniors enjoy the goodies, such a pleasure to see the smiles on their faces. It is a company tradition of visiting homes during this festive season, and we look forward to continuing this throughout the years.
The Digicel staff were touched by the experience as they spent quality time with the senior citizens at the homes.
Nurse Harrigan commented, “Your visit to the home means a lot. We want to thank you sincerely for all the gifts and especially the time you’ve spent with us on this special occasion,” Head of the Miriam Gumbs Senior Citizens Home, was happy to receive the goodies from the company and thanked the staff for thinking of them during this time.
