There would have been much reason for relief and happiness if Clinton Connor, alias Paradise, had been found alive, but the discovery of his body has brought closure to his disappearance at sea between Anguilla and St Martin/St Maarten.
The 62-year-old former Blowing Point resident and sailor was born on January 15, 1952. He became lost at sea on Saturday, January 10, between 6 pm and 7pm, while returning to Anguilla on a fishing boat with his friend and family member, Walton Connor. He was reported missing from the boat, resulting in an immediate and prolonged combing of the area by search and rescue teams from Anguilla and St Martin/St Maarten.
It was only around midday on Monday, January 11, that a resident at Cul-de -Sac, west of Blowing Point, discovered his body washed ashore there.
Police officials and family members are now awaiting a post mortem to determine the cause of Clinton’s death.
He is survived by his mother, Millicent Annie Connor; his daughters: Glendean Flanders Browne (St Maarten), Monica Bryan, Rashanna Connor and Angeline Connor; and grandchildren: Eleaza Junior Connor, Tyra Browne and Tenika Hughes.
To them, and all other relatives and friends, The Anguillian offers its condolences.
