Malliouhana-Auberge Resort & Spa, which just threw its doors open this season, after a period of refurbishing, has come in for high commendation from a distinguished travel industry official.
That official is Mr Graham Cooke, President of the prestigious World Travel Awards Group. He was in Anguilla over the past several days to preside over the presentation of the World Travel Awards to a number of persons and tourism businesses in Anguilla – and particularly many winners from diverse regions of the world.
“I went last night to Malliouhana that has recently reopened,” he told local media representatives. “I was so impressed with that property that I can’t tell you. I have to say, and should be telling that to everybody in the world.”
Mr Cooke added: “You have people here [in Anguilla for the World Travel Awards] from Qatar, Abu Dhabi, Dubai and big investors in the tourism industry. I think you should be very proud. You need to get this country out on the world site because you have a diamond here.”
The former Malliouhana Hotel was considered to be one of “The Leading Small Hotels of the World” and had achieved significant high ratings in various rave reviews. Now, with its classy modernisation, additional beauty, services, and marketing under the Auberge Resorts banner, the hotel, which bears Anguilla’s historical Amerindian name, is expected to reach new and higher heights.
