Young people from all six congregations of the Anguilla Methodist Circuit ended a month of activities with a grand rally on Sunday afternoon, November 30.
Led by a truck carrying a group of musicians, the large number of young people marched and sang on their way from the North Hill Road junction to the Bethel Methodist Church.
In the forefront of the rally were Rev Candis Niles, Chairperson of closing ceremony; and the Preacher, Rev Tyrone Hunkins of French St Martin, who is originally from St Kitts and served for eleven years in Jamaica before assuming his present appointment.
The rally continued in the church with lusty singing of choruses by separate church youth groups as well as a rendition by the Circuit Youth Choir.
Rev Hunkins, who was introduced by the Rev Dr Wycherley Gumbs, Superintendent of the Anguilla Circuit, delivered the sermon on “Claiming Our Generation for Christ” – the theme of Youth Month. He challenged the young people to live exemplary lives, shunning the pitfalls, criminal activity and other unchristian and anti-social living of wayward youngsters.
