The Lions Community in collaboration with Platinum Sponsor LIME will be staging its 2nd Jordel “Fufi” Gumbs Caribbean Food Fair on Saturday, December 20th at The Trough from 11:00am to 8:00pm. This Fair is a part of the Valley Christmas Tree Lighting Program of Activities which includes an array of themed day and night events scheduled from Wednesday, December 17th 2014 to Friday, January 2nd 2014.

The Fair will be used as a showcase for a variety of traditional Christmas foods, and drinks from across the region and will be available for purchase. Live entertainment will be provided by DJ Johnny, DJ Legend, De Movements Band and True Intentions.

The Jordel “Fufi” Gumbs Caribbean Food Fair is in memory of the late Jordel “Fufi” Gumbs, who was undoubtedly one of Anguilla’s most talented chefs. He was selected as a member of the National Culinary Team to participate in the Taste of the Caribbean Culinary Competition in June 2012 but his untimely death a week before the Miami event denied him that opportunity of fulfilling his dream. Jordel was also a former employee of Cable & Wireless Regional Contact Centre. The Lions Community has stated that all registration fees with be used to establish a fund to aid future food enthusiasts.

The Lions Community is a non-profit organization consisting of young Anguillians from North Side, The Valley and the surrounding areas, who aspire to be productive citizens in their communities. In making reference to the mission statement of Lions Community “to demonstrate how unity and camaraderie can contribute to bringing communities together for a positive cause”.
LIME’s Country Manager Mathieu Dion said this is a natural fit with LIME’s promise to making life better for the communities we serve and it was indeed a pleasure to be associated with this purpose-driven community group.

Marketing Manager, Jade Reymond said “Sponsoring events such as this, is a true reflection of LIME’s commitment to the community and allows us a medium to honor Jordel’s memory through his love for food preparation and gives our local, regional and international chefs, bakers and food enthusiasts another avenue to showcase and share their talents with us.”
We wish to take this opportunity to invite all food lovers, to come out and support this endeavor.
