The homicide victim has been named as Kenya Francis-Mitchum who arrived in Anguilla for a short stay on Friday, December 12, from St Kitts along with his girlfriend who has since returned to her homeland.

The Royal Anguilla Police Force stated that on Monday, December 15, at about 8.49 am, its officers received a report of a shooting incident at South Hill. On arrival they found the body of a male, subsequently identified as Kenya, lying on the floor of his residence.

Acting on information, the police arrested the two Kittitian suspects. Two handguns, along with other items of evidential value, were recovered from the scene. The victim’s toddler daughter was with him when he was gun downed. It is understood that at the time of the incident his girlfriend was outside.

The Commissioner of Police, Mr Rudolph Proctor, has highly commended his officers for the swiftness and professional manner with which they undertook the investigation. He also extended a big thank you to members of the public for their continued assistance in the fight against crime.
