In reply to <a href="https://theanguillian.com/2014/11/editorial-pyrolysis-and-the-waste-to-energy-process/#comment-87733">Steven Lancaster</a>.

I must agree. Every time I have visited the beautiful island of Anguilla I have heard discussion of the extremely high costs of electrical power. What is the writer of this article trying to communicate? Obvious to any reader that this writer is in clear political opposition with the current political power. If the government decides to overturn the planning board that would be an intelligent decision by smart politicians. The idea is to provide for the common good of all in society, moving away from fossil fuels to green energy sources is the correct approach in the world today. I noticed that the writer of the editorial made no mention of the current fossil fuel burning that currently supplies power to the island. It would be interesting to know ANGLECS annual fuel costs? Any studies on the emissions from the fossil fuel generators in Anguilla? Wake up and smell the garbage!

For any Anguillian interested in learning about "The State of The Practice," for pyrolysis, the US government has conducted much research on Pyrolysis and finds it the most efficient of all conversion technologies: http://nepis.epa.gov/Adobe/PDF/P100FBUS.pdf
In fact, for small pyrolysis units used to convert medical waste, The US EPA does not even require a permit! Stop playing politics and help Anguilla to move away from expensive fossil fuels with a cleaner alternative: Pyrolysis, solar, whatever.
