A group of Anglican parishioners called “St Mary’s Willing Workers” has expressed thanks to the Rt. Reverend Leroy Errol Brooks for his service to St Mary’s Parish Church.
The Willing Workers, represented by Mrs Marilyn Richardson, one of the women leaders in the church, expressed thanks and appreciation to Bishop Brooks during the presentation of a plaque and card to him at the October 26 Sunday morning service at St Mary’s. The opportunity to award him was taken just days ahead of his birthday.
The plaque read: “Presented to our Bishop, Errol, in thanksgiving to God for all of your dedicated work at St Mary’s Parish Church. May God continue to bless you.”
The St Mary’s Willing Workers also presented a plaque and card to Ms Mabel Gumbs, a long-serving member of the Mothers’ Union. Both Mrs Gumbs and Bishop Brooks celebrated their birthday on Thursday, October 30. The St Mary’s Willing Workers team is headed by Mrs Cilla Richardson, a prominent member of the church.
Errol is the 12th Bishop of the Diocese of the North Eastern Caribbean and Aruba. He was consecrated Bishop in 1998 at St John’s Cathedral in Antigua, where his predecessors resided over the years. He, however, preferred to remain based in Anguilla serving his people as a Priest, while travelling frequently to other islands of the Diocese performing the varied duties of Bishop.
