I have re-read this article and it is mentioned that this school has a special needs department However in this article, it seems that the focus of initiatives are targeted at mainstream students. What is being done to motivate students with a SEN? I am sure they are receiving an inclusive education, but should they not get a mention as part of an 'inclusive' drive to improve academic performance in all children?

This article has shared some interesting innovations, but I think what is missing is what is at the root of the problems that are being faced in this school and others on this Island. For example, it is great that the 100 Book Challenge has been put in place, but what needs to be addressed is how parents who cannot read and their children are supported. Would it not be better that a programme teaching children to read (and perhaps their parents) is run alongside the Bool Challenge The root of problems always need t0 be addressed, to be able to measure progress, not just academically but emotionally.
