ELEVEN PERSONS ARRESTED

The Police in Anguilla arrested eleven persons (ten males and one female) during the period
August 27-September 3.

The report from the Police stated that the arrests were as follows: three males for immigration purposes; two on suspicion of theft; two on default warrants; one for possession of cannabis, one to prevent a breach of the peace; and one for possession of stolen goods. The lone female was arrested on a default warrant.

Of the nine serious crimes reported, there were four burglaries in The Valley, Island Harbour, North Hill and Sandy Ground. The stolen items included a cellular phone, electrical wire and an air-conditioning unit.

Five thefts were reported at Little Dix, The Quarter, South Hill, The Forest and Long Path. Among the stolen items were a freezer, water and a sum of money.

Eight traffic accidents were reported.
