Dear Premier,
On behalf of the Government and people of Anguilla, and on my own behalf, I extend sincere congratulations to you and the members of your People’s Democratic Movement on your resounding victory at the recent polls in Montserrat.
The people of Montserrat have clearly spoken and demonstrated their desire for a new direction in the governance of your country. The task now before you and the members of your new government is not an easy one, given the continued effects of the global recession on our fragile economies in the region, among other factors, but I am confident your administration’s efforts to chart a new course of prosperity for Montserrat will bear fruit.
The Government and people of both Anguilla and Montserrat have long enjoyed a cordial relationship and we look forward to strengthening these bonds of friendship and cooperation in the months and years ahead. I look forward to meeting with you in the very near future.
Please therefore accept my personal best wishes for the future, and all prosperity and success to your Government, and may God continue to bless you and the people of Montserrat.
