What is "load base"? When did Hubert become an expert in air transport economics and operations? When did he become an expert in aircraft and airfield performance? Lets see some commitment from Air Canada and Jet Blue then. Any letters of intent? Do those airlines see a lot of potential in Anguilla? Are they willing to invest in some small way toward the airport expansion/renovation? Would the airport authorities be able to recruit and train staff to the appropriate level for an expanded operation? How much was spent on the last expansion project? Was it value for money? What was the ROI? Does the airport turn a profit? Do the authorities expect it to? What percentage of visitors actually use the airport?

Theses are the questions that need to be answered satisfactorily before anything can be achieved or argued for. Liat has made a decision. Maybe one of the best decisions it has ever made over the years. It needs to ensure its survival. One flight is better than no flight. Anguilla and other islands need to help Liat, instead of promoting this individualistic attitude which negatively affects Liat's already difficult role in the region. This help doesn't need to be in the form of direct investment. There are so many other ways. Want to know more? Anguilla needs better air connections with Antigua to coordinate transfers from British Airways and Virgin Atlantic. As it is, Anguilla is losing out on hundreds of visitors from the UK due to no connecting flights. Overnight stays in Antigua, on arrival and return is not acceptable, and the UK tourists stop in Antigua and Barbuda.
