376The students and coaches of Alwyn A. Richardson Primary School embarked on their 3rd annual football training camp. The students, along with their coaches Samaro ‘Junior’ Richardson, Dwyane ‘Lando’ Gumbs and Tyrone Hughes with assistance Teachers Brittany and Laurie spent three days (September 12th to September 14th) at the school.
The coaches engaged the students in an extensive three day program where they learned the skills and techniques they will need to compete in the up-coming inter – primary school football tournament.
This year the camp was sponsored by Blanchards Children’s Fund. The money received went towards defraying expenses such as meals. The principal, staff, coaches and students will like to take this opportunity to thank the management and staff of Blanchard’s Restaurant for their generous contribution. They will also like thank Chef Kevin Paul of Anacoana Hotel for volunteering to prepare their dinner, our PTA President Mr. Clyde Richardson and former PTA President Miss Anna Kennedy for getting the playing field cleaned so the students can have a decent field to practice on. The students attended church service at Immanuel Methodist and would like to thank Rev. Lindsay Richardson and the congregation for making them feel welcome.
The students and coaches are looking forward to one day having a well equipped playing field that will not only be beneficial to the school but the community at large. Another camp will be held during end of September and early October.
