POLICE REPORT: EIGHT PERSONS ARRESTED

The Police reported that during the period August 13-20 eight persons were arrested on separate matters as follows: two males for shop-lifting; two males to prevent a breach of the peace; one male for actual bodily harm; one male for possession of cocaine; one male for wounding; and one male on a bench warrant.

The above period has seen ten serious crimes committed on the island of which there were two burglaries at South Hill and Sile Bay. The stolen items included a flat screen television; a boat engine, a DVD player, mechanical tools and an undisclosed sum of money.

Other crimes of dishonesty were an attempted burglary at Roaches Hill; and five thefts at The Farrington, Little Harbour, Sandy Ground and Stoney Ground. The stolen items included jewellery, a cellular phone, and a pallet of blocks. There was one report of forgery.

Eight traffic accidents were reported during the period.
