KBP_6782As part of her ambassadorial duties for her island, Miss Anguilla 2013/2014, Amethyst Davis, left the island today to participate in a number of regional pageants. Miss Anguilla is scheduled to participate in this year’s Miss Jaycees Queen Show in Antigua on Friday, August 1st and also in Miss Caribbean Culture in Nevis on Monday, August 4th. These high-profile pageants form a significant part of the regional pageant circuit and are highly anticipated and widely-seen throughout the Caribbean.

In speaking to her travels, Miss Anguilla states, “It is a great honor to be able to travel to our neighbouring islands in order to share in the spirit of carnival and culture, but most of all, to carry a positive image of Anguilla to share with others overseas. Miss Anguilla is the face of the Anguillian people, carnival and culture which are critical aspects of our tourism industry. Therefore, it is very important that our Miss Anguilla is well prepared where ever she goes because her image is an image of her homeland.”

Miss Anguilla, who is accompanied by her chaperone, Ms Merlyn Rogers, will make appearances in ambassadorial wear, swimwear, talent, evening wear and interview. Her participation in these events has been made possible through the generous assistance of The Anguilla Tourist, the Government of Anguilla, the Queen’s Committee and Calypso Charters.
