DSC_5854The Eastern Caribbean Central Bank (ECCB) in collaboration with the Financial Information Month (FIM) partners throughout the Eastern Caribbean Currency Union (ECCU) came together on 13 August via videoconference to jump start Financial Information Month (FIM) 2014 with the launch of the theme song and preview of the music video.

The theme for FIM 2014 is: “Soar to Succeed”. The theme song which was written and produced by Visual Echo – Antigua and Barbuda, bellows the message which emphasises that one has to rise above the ordinary to achieve success by going beyond ordinary commitment, vision, skills, efforts, and actions.

During the launch, the message of the theme was echoed in a presentation by Ms Donna Banks, Accounts Supervisor and Acting Finance Manager of the Anguilla Air and Sea Ports Authority. Ms Banks emphasised that, “The challenges of life are many but success demands that we face these challenges as an eagle would and soar to greater heights rather than run for cover in the time of a storm.”

The 2014 FIM message will also be captured and portrayed in a music video produced by iRep Group, St Kitts. The video will be officially launched by mid-September. However, the preview is available on the ECCB’s website at www.eccb-centrabank.org.

FIM is a regional financial education campaign which is executed each year in October and is coordinated by the ECCB in collaboration with the ECCU member governments, financial and academic institutions, the media, private and public sector institutions and community–based groups.

The Ministers for Finance in the ECCU will officially launched FIM 2014 on 1 October with their respective Declaration Speeches. The activities for FIM 2014 will include: the ECCU Business Symposium and Innovation Forum, the ECCU Business Innovation Contest, a Train the Trainers Workshop for Teachers, and presentations to schools, churches and business places.
