The donation of a well-needed washing machine will enable Tender Loving Care Home, in The Valley, to better serve the needs of its residents, and for this the adult facility is grateful to First Anguilla Trust Company.
A number of the company’s managers and staff members visited the home on Friday, July 18, accompanied by two employees from Haskins Limited who delivered the machine.
Mr Lee Jones, the company’s Chief Executive Officer, was at the presentation ceremony: “Our staff came together and we are providing you with a brand new washer for your centre,” he told Ms Brenda Hodge, proprietor of Tender Loving Care home. “In conjunction with Anguilla’s celebration of the 40th Anniversary of its Summer Festival, First Anguilla Trust Company has decided to honour some of our most important citizens by spending our annual community service day here at the Tender Loving Care Home. We would like to say a special thank you to Brenda Hodge for providing this service to our seniors.”
The donation also included various sanitary supplies.
Responding, Ms Hodge, thanked Mr Jones and his staff for their contribution to the home for the elderly. “We appreciate it greatly, we appreciate having you here and we look forward to your entertainment.”
The Trust Company personnel spent the afternoon with the senior citizen during which they entertained them with board games and enjoyed their company.
In an earlier statement, Mr Jones gave an outline of his company’s work in Anguilla: “As First Anguilla Trust Company Ltd, we are part of the financial services industry on the island. Our company is just over twenty years old and most of our people are from Anguilla. We come together once a year to choose a charity to support – that we think is important to our staff and to the community. We went around Anguilla, looked at different places, and the staff collectively chose Tender Loving Care facility. We thought that this one really represented what we wanted to address this year. We assessed what its needs were and, based on our interview process, we decided that we could be most helpful by providing something the home needed.”
