Miss Melisha Webster contestant Number 2 in the 2014/2015 Miss Anguilla Queen Pageant under the theme “Reflections of Paradise” has garnered the support of Digicel the island’s leading telecommunications company. This is the first time that Digicel the Extraordinary network has made a commitment in support of a Miss Anguilla Contestant.
Melisha Webster, is a 22 year old dreamer proudly hails from Island Harbour, the epicenter of Anguilla’s fishing communities, home to the popular Festival del Mar and the legendary champion boat UFO. Melisha prefers to be colourfully described as her favourite author, the late Maya Angelou paints the picture “an intelligent woman, a courageous woman, a loving woman, a woman who teaches by being.”

Melisha (52 of 67)She subscribes to the notion, that it should never be said that to dream is a waste of one’s time for dreams are realities in waiting; in dreams seeds of our future are planted. Entering and competing in the Miss Anguilla Queen Pageant 2014/2015 is a dream come true and emanates from a sense of place for Melisha emphatically states “there is nothing that I take more pride in than stating that I am Anguillian”.
She treasures the idea of becoming an ambassador for Anguilla (at home and abroad)and views her participation in the Miss Anguilla Queen Pageant as an opportunity to bring light to her social platform that of empowering young women through mentoring and sharing especially in the virtues of high self –worth and self-esteem.
Melisha’s passion and strong interest in travel, adventure, exploration, learning, teaching , embracing new cultures have resulted in her honing an exciting career as a Flight Attendant; her ultimate dream however is to become a teacher in holistic education.
When she is not taking flight she unwinds through writing poetry, fishing, cooking, listening to music and socializing with friends. Melisha takes this opportunity to wish her fellow contestants all the very best in the 2014/2015 Miss Anguilla Queen Pageant scheduled for July 27 and August 7, 2014 and looks forward to showcasing and sharing in this year’s competition, as part of “our culture, our history, Anguilla Summer Festival at 40!
In confirming Digicel’s support for Ms. Webster, Digicel’s Head of Commercial Ms. Kerchelle Jn Charles stated, “Ms. Webster truly represents the Digicel brand, young, talented, energetic, enthusiastic, and intelligent. Our support for Melisha, maximizes the development and empowerment of youth in Anguilla and the Digicel team therefore applauds Melisha Webster and her team. We wish them all the best for the Miss Anguilla Queen Pageant and we look forward to cheering on our very own Miss Digicel!” At a presentation held at the Digicel corporate office, Ms. Webster was presented with a brand new Samsung S4 Mini and a “Digicel Supports Melisha Webster “cheque, to show Digicel’ s support towards their first Miss Anguilla Contestant. Ms. Webster is also happy to have Digicel on board; and she looks forward to joining the Digicel team with all of their upcoming promotional events.
