As Anguillians from near and far look forward to the celebration of 40 years of carnival, two young entrepreneurs Tahirah Banks and Jermaine “G” Payne of Live Creative Group are working hard to ensure that Anguilla’s summer festivities are promoted on the region and international scenes.
Both Banks and Payne have fused their synergies to launch a revolutionary new platform-AXA SUMFEST designed for Anguilla’s 40th Summer Festival.

The Live Creative Group has partnered with the Anguilla Carnival Committee to provide Anguillians and visitors with all the information on carnival and the island’s culture and history through the use of social media. The key features of the platform are the mobile application and the website enabling persons to interact with the bands, contestants, boat racers/builders, artistes, vendors as well as past and present contestants.

“What I think is so important about this carnival- the 40th anniversary – it presents an opportunity to document the history of carnival in a way that is innovative,” Banks told the media during the launch of AXA SUMFEST on Saturday. “So we are really focused on video and photo content with our project and educating people through interviews and updates to ensure there is hype behind carnival,” she added.

In welcoming the initiative by the Live Creative Group, the Minister of Culture Jerome Roberts said, “It is important that information is shared worldwide especially as we celebrate 40 years of carnival.”
He told The Live Creative Group, ”Your coming on board is indeed a great push in terms of spreading the word and bringing people to our shores from distant lands through technology. As a government, we are pleased that you are embracing our young people in the overall development of our country.”

The Minister added: “In most cases persons want things in return, but you are demonstrating you have your country at heart in helping to promote Anguilla.”

The Group is also partnering with Klass FM as well as being featured on the cover of the Grape Vine from May 12th until the end of carnival.
