LIME Anguilla has rolled out the next generation of mobile technology with the official launch of its 4G+me campaign and smart phones. The launch was on Wednesday, April 23, at the Italia Restaurant at Cuisinart Golf Resort and Spa, attended by a large number of corporate sponsors from across the island. They were welcomed by Mr Lawrence Stott, Manager, Managed Service Operations.

The main speakers were Ms Charmaine Sasso, Corporate Sales Manager, Mr Alex Bremnar, Chief Financial Officer, North Caribbean, and Ms Shakeema Carty.

Ms Sasso described the event as another milestone for Anguilla which she indicated had surpassed other previous technologies in data and speed provisions. “We at LIME listened to you, our valued customers, and answered your call,” she said in part. “Today, we are providing the network that you wanted – the 4G network. With the mobile network we are now providing, your data speeds will be ten times faster with coverage all across the island – and more data for less. You can access your data at any time, everywhere.”
Mr Bremnar, who is based in Antigua, said he was very excited to have been in Anguilla, on behalf of the North Caribbean Management Team, for the launch of the 4G service. He observed that Cable and Wireless and LIME had a long and proud history in Anguilla. “We know that data is critical in modern life, both in personal life and business, and most of you here are corporate customers – with the ability to access high data speeds wherever and whenever you want,” he stated.

The LIME Caribbean official went on: “Our commitment to Anguilla is underpinned by our investment plans. The 4G network we are now launching is part of those plans. We spent over two million dollars equipping our network for the data services we are offering here. We are also currently improving our broadband service across the island. You will be seeing the benefits of that in the very near future. Later this year we will be embarking on a major upgrade to our fixed broadband services. We will be offering speeds that haven’t been seen in Anguilla to date.”

Ms Shakeema Carty highlighted the benefits of LIME’s 4G technology. “Our 4G system provides mobile ultra-fast internet access to smart phones and other mobile devices,” she stated. “These are just a few of the characteristics that you will hear about LIME’s 4G technology. This will truly be an unforgettable experience.

“We provide the largest network on the island with more sites to be added over the coming weeks. All 23 sites are equipped with 4G coverage.” Among other matters, she said that 4G offered speeds up to 100 megabytes per second and instant down-loading capabilities and video streaming.

During the well-attended launch ceremony, a number of persons purchased some of the 4G smart phones at a conveniently-placed sales booth manned by several LIME marketing and sales staff members. Meanwhile, other persons won give-away raffle prizes including Samsung S4, Samsung Galaxy Tablets. The raffles were conducted by Ms Jade Reymond, LIME’s Marketing Manager in Anguilla.

The following day, Thursday, April 24, Ms Reymond, accompanied by Ms Charmaine Sasso, met with media representatives with whom LIME’s 4G network was further explained.
