The Anguilla Fire and Rescue Service is making steady progress in its efforts to create awareness of fire safety in homes and the workplace. This is being done through a series of training sessions for personnel in the public and private sectors. The latest of such training was held for staff members of the Immigration Department.
Leading Fire-fighter, Colin Lake, said that during the three-day fire-safety training, workers were taught the basic usage of fire extinguishers by participating in a number of drill exercises. He hoped that the Immigration Officers would now practice fire-safety in their workplace as well as in their homes.
Senior Immigration Officer, Mrs Amorelle Bryan-Hodge, spoke about the training on behalf of her colleagues: “It was very informative, and we are now equipped with some important basic knowledge,” she commented. “This will be of great assistance to us in our practice of fire safety both at the workplace and home.”
